Shalom Catholic Tours is a faith-based company offering Catholic pilgrimages throughout the year. We understand pilgrimages as moments of grace. A Time set apart in a person’s life before God alone, seeking His plans, opening up to His mercies and bringing with them the smallest to the greatest intention in places made holy by Christ and the church.
Each journey is thoughtfully paced and pastorally guided, with daily Mass, Scripture, and quiet prayer woven naturally into the days. We work behind the scenes to ensure every detail is carefully managed, from choosing the right bus size to arranging meals, hotels, and experienced tour guides. We also customise tours for groups who would like a personalised itinerary.
Our hope is simple. That pilgrims return home steadied in faith, renewed in trust, and strengthened for daily life. We do not promise extraordinary experiences, but we do our best to make sure our pilgrims are comfortable and feel cared for.
Karen has been personally curating the itineraries for each pilgrimage since 2014, making each journey a unique experience. One of her earliest pilgrimages was a 26-day journey beginning in Melbourne and spanning Israel, Jordan, Egypt, and India. Offered at a very accessible cost of AUD 3,200, the experience left a lasting impression on those who travelled, many of whom have continued to return as pilgrims over the years.
Another particularly meaningful moment was guiding pilgrims to Rome for the canonisation of Saint Teresa of Calcutta, an experience Karen holds close to her heart. Since the trip involved a canonisation, there were 50+ people on that journey with her.
She has led multiple groups to multiple places and also empowers others to do so. She aims to make pilgrimages affordable for everyone with a competitive price as compared to those offered by other companies. This comes from a place of understanding that many have waited all their life for an experience such as this. Ultimately, all she aims for is that each person joining the journey grows in their faith and returns home with many graces.
